There is no secret the United States provided some new sanctions concerning post-Soviet industry in a row over human rights. Belarus population was indignant because of such changes.
The nation considered it as harming their interests. Actually, these three Belarusian companies were under suspect already, so there is nothing too surprising. President Lukashenko got angry after those sanctions implementing and decided to break all the relations with U.S. However, American diplomats swear the sanctions won’t have a big negative effect on Belarusian business as the whole. But they are necessary. The sanctions have to deal only with OAO Lakokraska, OAO Polotsk Steklovolokno and Belarusian Oil Trade House. It will be better for the economy of Belarus and its supporting countries, U.S. government insures. The assests of these companies found in the U.S. will be frozen, that’s all. Meanwhile, the firms are taking measures to cut the risk of losses from Washington’s sanctions. Originally, sanctions were imposed on November 13, 2007, but only now they have force.
